Confessions of a Former Puck Bunny by Cindi Madsen *REVIEW*

Confessions of a Former Puck Bunny (Taking Shots)

by Cindi Madsen

Release Date: May 8th, 2017

KBN Rating:

Confession #1: I used to be a puck bunny, but after a hockey player broke my heart, I gave up all things hockey. Now I’m just focused on finding a way to pass my math class so I can graduate college.

Confession #2: Ryder “Ox” Maddox’s deep, sexy voice sends fuzzy tingles through my entire body, and I’m powerless to stop it. Which is a big problem since the hot, surprisingly funny hockey player is my new math tutor.

Confession #3: I can’t stop thinking about how ripped Ryder is from all his hockey training, and how fun it’d be to cross lines with him.

Confession #4: I kissed a hockey player and I liked it.

Confession #5: If I’m not careful, I might relapse and fall for Ryder, and then I’ll be totally pucked.

Each book in the Taking Shots series is a standalone, full-length story that can be enjoyed out of order.
Series Order:

“He smelled like a freshly scrubbed lumberjack and I wanted to take a taste. Just a tiny one.”

Krissy’s Confession #1: I used to look down on “Puck Bunnies” in my favorite sports romance books. They’re often written in as annoying, hockey player leeches, and I regretfully only viewed them as such.

This book helped change my mind.

I was completely ashamed of myself for my previous views on these women as soon as I started reading Lindsey’s story. Looking at things through the eyes of a “former puck bunny” totally changed the way you see the story unfold and it reminded me to be less judgmental and more kind.

Krissy’s Confession #2: I have a major book crush on Ryder.

Our hockey-playing/math-tutoring hero in this book totally melted my heart. I love when a book boyfriend rises to the challenge a heroine sets before him and refuses to give up until he wins the girl.

Ryder went well above and beyond rising to the challenge Lindsey set before him and gave us several swoon-worthy moments in this book.

Krissy’s Confession #3: I really, really, want to go play paintball now. 😉

Two of my favorite scenes take place not on the ice, but on a paintball field. This book is a part of a series so these scenes involved several characters from previous books and showed how close they are to each other. The couples are young, fun, and adorable and it was amusing to read these scenes.

Krissy’s Confession #4: I loved this book.

Confessions of a Former Puck Bunny is an easy read with plenty of hot hockey action, ultra sweet romance, and an important lesson to judge less and have fun more.

I give Confessions of a Former Puck Bunny 4.5 out of 5 Krissy’s Stars!

(I can’t put my finger on it, but there was just something missing to take this read from, ” This is a great book!” to ” Omgosh y’all HAVE to read this book!”.)

I totally recommend reading this book nonetheless. ;D
