STAY by Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy *REVIEW*

STAY (WAGs #2)

by Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy

Release Date: June 20, 2017

KBN Rating:

Can you fall for someone you’ve never even met?

Hailey Taylor Emery has a hunch that her favorite client at Fetch–an anonymous virtual assistant service–is actually hockey star Matt Eriksson.

Although it’s against the rules for her to check his file, she’s 95% sure she spends at least part of each day texting with her lifelong crush and catering to his every need. Still nursing a wounded heart thanks to her recent breakup, Hailey is perfectly content with some harmless online flirting…until she has to meet her client. Face to face. Cue: utter panic.

Matt Eriksson is no stranger to heartbreak. He’s still not over the destruction of his marriage, and it sucks to be the only guy on the team who knows the truth–that hockey and long-term relationships are a toxic mix. He barely sees his kids, and dealing with his ex makes him feel insane. The only person in his life who seems to understand is someone who won’t show her pretty face.

But it’s nothing that a pair of fourth row hockey seats can’t fix. Hailey can’t resist the offer. Matt can’t resist Hailey. Good thing he doesn’t have to. Fire up the kiss cam!

Warning: Contains rabid hockey fans, misunderstood dick pics, hockey players at the opera and exploding ovaries.

How is it possible for authors Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy to exceed my expectations with every freaking new release when my expectations for them are already SO high?!?!

This second book in the WAGS (Wives and Girlfriends) series from Sarina and Elle is just as incredible as the first book, Good Boy, if not a little bit MORE.

The little plays-on-words, like the name of the heroine’s company, Fetch, that continue the canine theme throughout this series add to the lighthearted and fun feeling you have while reading. As do the names of the chapters in STAY like ; 3. Shoulder Fetish,10. No Wonder I’m Divorced,13. In a Minute, Buddy, and my personal fave, 19. Not The Chocolates’ Fault.

The actual romance between Hailey and Matt was the best part of this book in my opinion though. These characters are so different from any of the other characters in any of the previous books these two authors have co-written. I’m truly impressed that Sarina and Elle keep creating these unique, engaging, and complex characters for us to love book after book.

Hailey’s HBIC ( Head Boss in Charge) at Fetch along with her ex-husband. I couldn’t imagine working alongside an ex-husband every day and I give her major props for being able to do that, and do it so well.

The messaging and texts between these two characters increases in hotness the more you read. I LOVE sexy and flirty text exchanges in romance reads and this book is filled with ultra steamy digital banter.

I give STAY 5 out of 5 Krissy’s Stars!

I have to confess to y’all that this is the second time I’ve written this review. My dog, I mean BLOG, ate my homework so to speak and only a skeleton of my full review was saved in my drafts. I realized I had forgotten to schedule my post when it didn’t automatically appear on my social media platforms and my heart dropped when I realized that virtually nothing had saved. So, I’m sure I had a super funny and witty canine pun as my last line here, but I can’t think of one now. 🙁

I’ll just leave you with; READ THIS BOOK!!! Trust me, it isn’t one you’ll want to miss. 😉
